be well Centers provide a variety of FREE or low cost healthy living resources.
Located inside the Hiawatha Davis and Central Park Recreation Centers in Denver and the Moorhead Recreation Centers in Aurora, the be well Centers offers free cooking and fitness classes, enrollment assistance for food (SNAP) and health (Medicaid) benefits, health screenings (i.e. blood pressure, health, weight, cholesterol, and glucose) and various additional tools to help keep you and your family healthy.
No recreation center membership is required!
Healthy Cooking Sessions: A six week nutrition program filled with cooking techniques intended to help families savor their meals and their heart health. Participants receive a free bag of grocery as each session to try what they learned at home.
Fitness Sessions: A six week physical activity program packed with fun & energizing activities designed to help you reach your fitness goals fast.
Heart Health Screenings: Free blood pressure, height, weight,glucose and cholesterol screenings with direct connections to treatment, if necessary.
Enrollment Assistance for Health Benefits and Food Assistance Programs: On site experts will help enroll you and your families in assistance programs such as the Food Assistance, Women Infant and Children Program, CHP, CHP Plus and many other support programs.
Healthy Shopping by Shopping Matters!: A guided grocery store tour to help families shop healthy affordably.
